Botulinum toxin is a suitable treatment for a "gummy smile". This happens when the top lip elevates too much exposing excessive amount of the top gum. Botulinum toxin relaxes the muscle above the top lip. Lowering the lip will hide the gums when you smile.
Top lip effects last for approximately 3 to 4 months and gives high patient satisfaction, confidence and a more attractive smile. As demonstrated in the photographs below, the ladies have had corrective Botox® treatment and what a very pleasing result they have had.
Bunny lines are troublesome little wrinkles at the top of the nose and sometimes appear when we smile or frown. These wrinkles and scrunched up appearance are caused by contractions of the underlying muscle. Botulinim toxin is an ideal remedy and will significantly reduce the appearance of these wrinkles.
Botulinum toxin is an extremely effective temporary cure for excessive underarm sweating. The effects can be seen within one week and last for 4 to 9 months, and in some cases longer. You can avoid this embarrassing condition and the nuisance of having to restrict your wardrobe and having several clothing changes every day.
Botulinum toxin is a chemical produced by the botulinum bacteria. It is a safe protein derived from the toxin, which when injected into a muscle causes it to relax and become inactive.
It stops the muscle from functioning by blocking the chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle. By reducing the movement of the muscle the skin stops being creased and the lines will soften and fade away.
Botulinum toxin is injected in tiny amounts very precisely in specific areas of the face. It has been in use for cosmetic purposes in the UK for decades, and has proved to be extremely safe with minimum side effects. Botulinum toxin is licensed in the UK for cosmetic use.
All new clients will receive a telephone consultation with Karen prior to coming into the clinic. An initial 1 hour consultation with Karen will help you to decide on what are your requirement and expectations, areas to be treated and Karen will provide you with comprehensive information about the procedure, what to expect following your treatment, side effects and after care.
Karen will show you before and after photography and videos of some of her clients to prove the standard of her work and allow you to see what you can achieve.

Your photography will be taken and given to you, so that you can monitor the full effect of your treatment. A tiny micro needle is used for minimum discomfort and no anaesthetic is required. The procedure will take approximately 5 minutes. There may be slight redness and swelling of the injected sites which will resolve within an hour. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after your treatment.
It may take up to 14 days to see the full effects. A follow up consultation with Karen two to three weeks after your treatment will give you the opportunity to have any free top up treatment if required to achieve optimum satisfaction.
According to manufacturers, Botulinum toxin will last for three to four months but the majority of our clients treatment results last much longer.
Bruxism is a medical term that describes the act of clenching of the teeth and teeth grinding. This is a conditon that mainly affects the sufferer at night. Regular and persistant automatic and rhythmical teeth grinding can result in an aching jaw, headaches, disturbed sleep, worn down teeth, breaking of the teeth, muscle and facial pain and receding gums.
Teeth grinding is usually associated with contributing factors such as stress and anxiety. Some people suffer short term but sadly in some people it can be a life long problem and frequently requires expensive dentistry repairs. Traditional treatment methods ranging from mouth guards, sleeping tablets and muscle relaxing exercises each have poor results.
However, Botulinum toxin is an excellent temporary remedy, effects lasing from 3 to 4 months and in some cases longer. Botulinum toxin is a muscle relaxant medicine and is injected directly into the culprit muslces stopping the jaw muscles contracting back and forth while you sleep. Treating these muscles will not affect your speech, smile, eating or drinking.
