Ensuring skin safety on winter holidays

It is a well known fact that excessive sun exposure is very harmful to the skin, causing not only skin cancer but premature ageing, resulting in excess loss of tissue volume, sagging skin, crêpey skin and sun damage pigmentation. As a skin specialist, I preach long and hard to my clients throughout the summer about how to look after their skin while enjoying the sunshine safely.

As the winter months are long and harsh, many people want to lift their mood and enjoy some sun which takes us on winter holidays. But don't be fooled, just because it is the winter does not mean that you won't damage your skin, YOU CAN!
If you are going to enjoy the sun this winter with an abroad holiday, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, take a good UVA and UVB water based sun protection. We sell an amazing UVA and UVB factor 50, in the clinic all year round, that soaks completely into the skin leaving no visible trace like you frequently get with some shop bought sun factors.

If you enjoy a few abroad holidays a year and sit in the garden taking in the sun for as little as 4 hours per week, you would be shocked if you had a 3D scan of your skin and see the under the surface damage that has occurred as a consequence. Over exposure of UVA and UVB sun rays without protection will cause irreversible damage and you only have yourself to blame.

Although we can help sun damaged skin with a combination of Botox, dermal filers, skin boosters, skin tightening products, chemical skin peels and a change of skin care, the results will not be as fantastic as those who look after their skin and limit sun exposure.
Enjoy your winter holiday safely while boosting your vitamin D intake, banishing the winter blues, improving the arthritis and your general well-being but don't come back to the UK with more skin damage for me to sort out!
