Hello everybody, welcome to our brand new blog pages.

I am very excited to be introducing a blog page to our website and hope that our readers and followers will enjoy reading my blogs as much as I will enjoy writing them.

If you have any “topic suggestions” or “questions” that you would like answering, please get in touch by emailing me at: karen@northwalesaesthetics.co.uk.

I am starting my first blog with the subject “Botox” which is the first treatment people think about when considering having aesthetic treatments.

“Botox” or “anti-wrinkle injections” is the most well known and sought after cosmetic treatment and usually the first treatment people have when starting their aesthetic journey.

Botox is certainly the most popular treatment at the clinic and probably the most popular antiwrinkle treatment worldwide.

I absolutely love Botox because it is incredibly effective and brings highly pleasing results to everyone. That said, not everyone is suitable for Botox as it does restrict the upward movement of the eye brows and can make upper eyelid skin look heavy if you are a sufferer of excess skin in that area. Not only smoothing out wrinkles, but it prevent the excess muscle movement that is the cause of wrinkles and creases at rest, therefore preventing them if you become a committed Botox user.

I understand that “new starters” to Botox only hear about all the bad negative news, but let me reassure you- it is the practitioner who administers the Botox who has done a bad job, not the Botox! An incredibly safe drug but notoriously difficult to work with, Botox is very safe in the right hands. Administered by the right practitioner, you simply will not be able to tell if someone has had Botox and I love watching people guessing “has she had something done or hasn't she ?” or hearing my patients tell me “no one knows, even my best friend hasn't guessed”

Starting off as the celebrity treatment, Botox is now commonly available to the average ordinary person like you and me. Botox is a lovely treatment to have for the thirties plus and not only brings a more youthful appearance but prevents the signs of ageing which is why eternally youthful celebrities are envied by us.

Celebs who have been refreshingly candid about having Botox are Cameron Diaz who has reportedly said, she supports having Botox in her beauty regime a it makes her feel better about herself. And the never ageing Cindy Crawford has always been upfront about having Botox too, saying that when you get past a certain age creams don't work and a combination of Botox, vitamin injections, drinking lots of water and plenty of exercise are her secrets.

No longer controversial, Botox is a serious consideration for anyone wishing to look good for your age and that starts when you see lines at rest appearing. So, if you are getting to that age where you dread looking in the mirror, perhaps a little Botox may be a good safe start and maybe stop you kicking and screaming towards the ageing process.
