Old hands give the game away

Most people concentrate on their face to banish wrinkles and the signs of ageing. But what do people say “if you want to know a woman's age, look at her hands” And this is absolutely true.

When you are having Botox, skin tightening and dermal filler treatments to your face why leave your hands to show your age. The signs of ageing of the hands is the development of crêpey skin, sun damage spots, large bulging dilated veins and they will all give away your true age. There is very little volume or plumpness underneath the skin on the backs of the hands and the skin is hyper mobile, therefore wrinkles and crepey skin develop more easily and often don't match the speed of the ageing process of the face. The majority of us who are having facial treatments to help diminish the ageing process, often forget about our hands. Rejuvenating the appearance of the hands with a combination of treatments will restore lost volume giving the hands a more youthful smoother look, matching the face.

So what treatments do we have?

Firstly a course of dermal filler skin boosters will replenish the volume and hydrate the skin from within, then skin tightening products will smooth and tighten the surface skin, followed by microsclerotherapy which is a treatment that can shrink the hand veins making them a more normal acceptable size and finally with a series of medium and deep chemical skin peels you can fade the sun spots that we all call “age spots”and all together will make your hands match your youthful face.

All our treatments are very effective and bring high satisfaction to my patients who frequently tell me that hand rejuvenation really confuses their friends and family when guessing their real age. AND wouldn't you just love to do that!
